PLACING RUNNER-UP AT TH E MARYLAND STATE 9-BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS, 1998

Hello!

And thank you for visiting my website! My name is Kim Smith. I started playing pool "seriously" in 1992 and gained semi-pro status in 1994, at which time I entered my first professional tournament, the US Open 9-ball Championships.

I have since had the privilege of playing in several other WPBA professional events. Among my professional accomplishments are winning the 1996 Pennsylvania State 8-ball championship and runner-up finishes in the 1998 Maryland State 9-ball Championships and 2007 Pennsylvania State 9-ball Championships.

However, playing ability alone does not make one a competent instructor. Many of my students have expressed frustration over trying to learn from players who were great at their game but simply lacked the ability to effectively communicate their winning techniques and strategies to others. I am a professionally trained instructor in both military and civilian classrooms and have extensive experience teaching hands-on tasks as well as complicated concepts. My students and colleagues have attested to my ability to convey difficult concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.

I have been the house pro at D & D Family Billiards since 2003 and was the the house pro at another local room for approximately 4 years.

When I am not playing pool, I work as a lean/continuous improvement facilitator in the aviation industry and am a Logistics Officer in the Army Reserve. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and will complete my Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics in Feb 2010 (woo hoo... more time to play pool!)

But only from the Best!
Thank you, World Champion ALLEN HOPKINS for sharing your knowledge and your friendship!

This website is humbly dedicated to Tom Fryer who for 5 years, pushed, prodded, encouraged, and never stopped believing in me. I owe my existence in the billiards world to you Tom!
THANK YOU!!!!
